Cover Sheet/Title Page & Table of Contents
Cover Sheet – This is where you put all the details about your book (title, genre and wordcount) as well as your contact information (name, phone no., e-mail address).
The general format for this can vary. Some people prefer to center all of the information. Others center the title, genre, and wordcount and put the contact information in a bottom corner. Generally speaking, however, the title goes first, followed by either the author’s name or the genre and wordcount, with the contact information last.
(spaces – start about 1/3 of the way down the page)
TITLE
(leave several spaces, at least 5)
Genre
(leave a couple of spaces, no more than 3)
Wordcount total
(leave a number of spaces, at least 5)
Author
(leave a number of spaces, at least 5)
Author’s address
Author’s phone number(s)

Table of Contents – Some people recommend a Table of Contents, others don’t. If you include one, center the title of the page and the information, with at least one or two spaces between each line. List the title of each page on the left and the page number on the right. How far apart you put the title and the page number is up to you, as well as whether you prefer to put a series of dots between the two columns.

As with everything you send to an agent or a publisher, from the query to your full manuscript, review it for mistakes and typos so you can send them a clean, polished piece of work. Remember, this is all they have to judge both you and the quality of your work. So make it the best it can be.
