Castle Gate Press’ first novel, The Day She Died, is a unique mix of mystery and time travel. How did author, Bill Garrison, come up with such an unusual idea? Where did his inspiration come from?
Authors are readers too. Like most authors, Bill loves to read. He says, “I’ve always been inspired by books I’ve read.” After reading a great book, he would tell himself, “I want to be able to create a story like that author.” Eventually, he followed through with his dream and began writing. And in October, what began with inspiration from novels will become a reality with the release of The Day She Died
TIME TRAVEL NOVELS
Novels about time travel have particularly fascinated Bill. The four books pictured on the right are a few that inspired him to start asking himself what things he would change if he could relive his life.
Bill’s creative side began spinning a tale that eventually became The Day She Died, a light whodunit about a middle-aged coffee-shop owner who always wondered what his life would have been like if he’d stayed in town the day his college fiancee disappeared…and gets a chance to find out.
All because reading books inspired a reader to become an author.
