The co-owners of Castle Gate Press, Phyllis Wheeler and Suzanne Hartmann, attended the Realm Makers Writing Conference for Christian Speculative Fiction this past weekend. While they are both exhausted, the atmosphere of sharing and the sense of family energized and renewed them. Sensing these qualities–which Castle Gate Press also promotes–poured out in a larger arena and touching every attendee, whether a writer, publisher, or speaker, is a feeling that’s hard to describe.

At all writing conferences, those who attend feel a certain connection, because they understand the process of writing, but Realm Makers goes far above and beyond that. There is a sense of welcome that makes everyone feel like they’ve come home, and for those who have attended multiple times, it’s like going to a family reunion.
Even better, the spark that begins at the Realm Makers conference continues beyond the few days of speakers and workshops. People connect through social media, share pictures through a Facebook group, and continue to share throughout the year as they look forward to the next Realm Makers.
When you attend a writers’ conference, you make an investment in your writing career and leave with a good–maybe even great–experience. At Realm Makers, you make connections with others willing to invest in your writing journey as well as with those you can invest in as well. It’s not just a great experience, it’s fantastic experience!
If you couldn’t make it this year–or maybe you’re hearing about it for the first time–make plans to go next year. For details, follow this link: Realm Makers 2017 . To sneak a peek at what the 2016 conference entailed, check here: Realm Makers Conference.
We look forward to seeing you next year in Reno!

Realm Makers is the best conference I’ve ever attended. I missed the first year because I was already committed to teach at another conference, but I hope to never have to miss another one!
Phyllis Wheeler says
I agree. The best.
