Carole Brown’s Christian women’s fiction book launch includes social media and advertising.
Cross-promotion is a key tool. Carole has recruited some “champions” to help her promote her book at the right time, a key element of using social media. Here, it’s important to offer the potential helpers something of high value in return for their services, such as returning the favor when their own books release or when they are launching a blog or a newsletter. If they are bloggers not authors, offer to promote blog posts whenever requested.
Here are some other elements she is looking at:
- “I’ve kept a list of potential blogs that seem well read by their followers. Any blog interview or guest post is beneficial in that you reach some you might not have with your own. (But I have noticed the same people commenting on several blogs. In other words, I wonder whether I am reaching new people or the same ones.)
- “I also put forth an effort to ask if I could be interviewed or guest blog on different places. Most are favorable to that.
- “I’ve made lists of possible advertising places that I think might reach readers, including secular bloggers and magazines. I look them over and ask the size of their reach.
- “I’m looking for magazines and e-zines including secular ones who can give me reviews.”
