If you had a Facebook launch party, how would you do it?
Would you use an event page, or your own Facebook page? How would you control commenting so it’s not in 40 different places?
Would you have it take place over a number of days, or on one day? If one day, how many hours?
How often would you check in?
Maybe you’d make a number of offers like this: readers can enter a Rafflecopter-powered grand prize drawing in force for the duration of the event, for a valuable item like a Kindle Fire. Readers get points for the drawing for tweeting, posting, and otherwise alerting friends and followers about this event or the book.
You may want to have other drawings over shorter time periods for a Barnes and Noble gift card, for example. To enter, the reader must read the first chapter of the book (posted online) and answer a trivia question about it, sending it to you in a Facebook message. You’ll randomly draw from those who answered correctly.
How about this tip: you turn off notification alerts except for the prize opportunities, so followers aren’t overwhelmed with trivial messages.
So, what else do you folks suggest as strategies?
