You know the picture. You’ll probably see it today. Everyone gathered around the table. Piles of food waiting to be devoured. Smiles on all the faces. Children drooling over dessert. It’s Thanksgiving! But is it truly Thanksgiving without an attitude of gratitude?
Howdy y’all! Crystal L Barnes here. I don’t know about you but Thanksgiving can be a day of ordered chaos—or just plain chaos altogether. J Sometimes it’s hard to stop and take a moment to give thanks. Really give thanks.
I know it’s that way with my family. I guess that’s why when I wrote my inspirational, western romance Win, Love, or Draw. I had my characters do what I’d like to see happen at a perfect Thanksgiving celebration. Everyone seated at the table, friends and family alike, shared what they were thankful. (And let me tell you, after the uproar I put them through with outlaws, gunslingers, and relationship issues, they had plenty to be thankful for. 😉 )
Now don’t get me wrong. There’s still some of those crazy things kids say and a bit of tension when they say too much, but that’s life isn’t it? I’m so glad that regardless of “life” if we have Jesus in our hearts, we have plenty to be thankful for.
How about you? Have you stopped a moment to be truly thankful? If not (and if so J ), take a moment now and share with us what you are thankful for. You might find once you start listing it’s hard to stop. J
Happy Thanksgiving, y’all!
