At Castle Gate Press, we want to work with and encourage not only our own authors, but all authors. One of the ways we would like to do this is by offering great resources on everything from brainstorming story ideas to sample proposals to marketing ideas. The internet offers a vast array of such resources, but we would like to highlight the ones offered by our own readers…and give your web presence a little boost at the same time.
We Want to Help Others Find Your Great Content
For each link to a sample, article, or set of links you provide, we will include your name and one link to your website or blog on the resource page for each topic. So if we set up resource pages for ten different topics, and you send us links for each one, we will link to your content ten times.
This week we’re looking for writing advice
What is the best writing advice you’ve ever received?
What is the best writing advice you would give to the new author?
Please leave your answer(s) as a comment, and include your name and a web address to link to.
Thank you for sharing! We can’t wait to read your responses.

Join a writing group. This was the best advice I received and the advice I would give to others.
In my case it was Romance Writers of America and their local chapter. Other possibilities, depending on your type of writing include, American Christian Fiction Writers, Mystery Writers of America, and regional Writing Guilds.

@Ellen, this was also the most important advice anyone gave me!

And one of the best parts of being in a writers’ group is the critique groups they offer. I can’t say enough about how much critique groups have helped me grow as an author.
